Dr Derrick E. Houston

Dr. Derrick E. Houston, Sr. is founder and senior pastor of the 500 - member based church Warriors International Fellowship in Birmingham, Alabama. He is an author and profound motivational

speaker. He has risen to a place of prominence by delivering high energy messages and no nonsense teachings which tell people how to be motivated and live up to their god given potential.

With a personal ministry that transcends over 34 years, He has been instrumental in the establishment and re-establishment of ministries all over the southeast. Dr. Houston is a competent and

experienced worship leader. Houston’s musical credits are as extensive as his ministry, both as a musician and a psalmist. Among doctor Houston’s many academic accolades, he is a

graduate of the Birmingham City School System and he poses a Bachelor of Arts in Divinity, his Master of Arts in Divinity and Pastoral Counseling and a Doctorate of Divinity from Mid-West Christian College & Seminary in Gary, Indiana. At the conception of this ministry, Houston had been charged by God to help and encourage individuals to develop them into the full measure of the statue of the Lord Jesus Christ. These clarion words, which were spoken to him by the late Archbishop Wilbert McKinley of Elim International Ministries of New York, have ignited Houston’s relentless pursuit to effect the world by teaching, reconciling, and restoring relationships both outside and within the church. Through a division of DEH Ministries, referred to as the Youth Pathways Programs, the ministry reaches out to youth not only in church settings, but in their schools and homes as well. An urban humanitarian, Dr. Houston is the CEO of his namesake ministry. Through this ministry he institutes programs such as Boyz to Better Men and P.U.R.P.O.S.E.D.

Dr. Houston places his focus on ensuring that all children have a safe and balanced home. The program strives to maintain and promote their well-being both physically and spiritually. In addition to these programs Houston founded and institutes, Integrity Athletes which is a program through which he works in scores of Athletic Programs in schools throughout the area. It is designed to inspire athletes to live a drug-free and well-balanced lifestyle, while further promoting sportsmanship, hard work,honesty and leadership.

Dr. Houston is the Chancellor of Teleion School of Theology, which is a subsidiary of his Alma Mata. Teleion School of Theology is designed to educate students for specialized Christian ministries with emphasis on the preaching and counseling arenas. In Ephesians 4:13 we read that the body of Christ is to be built up unto a full grown, mature [Teleion] man. TELEION: Adjective form of TELOS, translated; perfect reached the end of a process and is therefore complete, finished, fully developed, and mature. Dr. Houston is the author of two books Be Still and Know and In It to Win It.
